Encounter Church core values

Gospel Foundation
Daily dependence on the gospel changes our attitudes, actions, and values. We are known by dependence on Jesus for salvation and daily living rather than who or what we are against.
Do we continually depend on the grace that is foundational to the gospel every day?

Missional Giving
The church does not exist for Christian consumers; it exists to serve the world. We will live missional lives in our city and beyond and use our blessings to bless others.
Do we bless the world or hoard blessings?

Authentic Living
As imperfect people, we must admit our flaws before we can be healed from them. We will lean on Christ’s righteousness rather than showing off our own.
Do we truly rely on Jesus’ righteousness alone?

Biblical Authority
God has revealed Himself through the Inerrant Word of God, and it is the final authority for our lives.
Are our priorities and attitudes consistent with Scripture?

Honest Community
Accountability, belonging, care, and spiritual growth happen best with relationally-connected believers.
Are we connecting relationally through small groups?

Desperate Dependence
We will set impossible goals, take bold steps of faith, and watch God do far more than we can do in our own power. We must pray and continually depend on God so that the Holy Spirit is free to move.
Is desperate dependence truly evident through our prayer, worship, and learning?

Big Picture Thinking
Encounter Church is a small part of a much bigger picture. The local church is the hope of the world, and we know we can accomplish infinitely more working together with other churches and ministries than working apart.
Are we blessing other churches and ministries?
